UA at the BAFF!

Université Antonine is taking part in the 2nd edition of the Beirut Art Film Festival, which is taking place from November 8th till the 20th. A fine selection of documentaries is presently being screened at Metropolis, the main movie theater to host this Festival, along with various Universities in the country.

All documentary buffs are invited to attend the BAFF screening at Université Antonine this coming Thursday November 17th,where three tempting documentaries will be projected in the G3 building:

-Imagine Zaha Hadid: Who Dares Wins exposes the profile of late visionary architect  Zaha Hadid and takes us inside her most famous designs.

UK, 2013, 75’. Directed by Alan Yentob. English, French subtitles @ 16:00.

-The Man who Saved the Louvre, tells the story of Jacques Jaujard, the man who led the exfiltration operation back in World War II, in order to save masterpieces from the Louvre Museum.

France, 2014, 60’. Directed by J.P. Devilliers & P. Pochart. English @ 17:30.

-Love and War on the Rooftop is a Tripolitan tale that tells the story of youths from Jabal Mohsen and Bab al-Tabbaneh, who met directly after the clashes between the two areas ended.

Lebanon,  2015, 42’. Directed by Samer Ghorayeb. VO, English subtitles @ 18:30


As it is flawlessly described on its main site” BAFF is not a contest. It is rather an open space dedicated to beauty and culture. BAFF’s mission is essentially cultural: increase awareness and appreciation of
art to a wide audience both in Lebanon and the Middle East”.
